Hey, i need to show you this one.. I was forced to reinstall my main operating system (Windows XP) at work (after 2 years of using). So i backup all my stuff and try to work with Vista for sometime. I’ve installed Vista Ultimate , put some software there (from Microsoft only Office 2007) and run Windows Update.
What more can i say, see the image above.
If you don’t get it, windows update tell me that i need to install: 124 updates, 6 018,9 MB (6 GB).
See the big picture, this is not a joke.
Well, i look at list of updates, the only thing that i add was Office 2007 which add some updates to list and i saw there many language packs (about 15 of them, 250MB for each) that Vista wants to update/install, but still without them about 3.5 Gb of updates !!!
The best is Vista starts downloading this in background, so when i canceled the window with Windows update system starts showing me small progress icon with download info. So i write this post while system downloads all updates. The worst part is the download process comes from Internet not our company WSUS server (progress 28%).
In start Vista Ultimate took about 18 GB of hard drive, will see after those updates.
